Description
Richard Wagner's Der Ring Des Nibelungen, recorded live at the Bayreuth Festival 1967. Chorus and Orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival Opera conducted by Karl Böhm. Including Theo Adam as Wotan, Birgit Nilsson as Brünnhilde and Wolfgang Windgassen as Siegfried. Phillips Classics stereo recording boxed set edition of 1990 (catalogue 420 325-2). 14 discs in four separate jewel-cases for the four operas. Complete libretti in four separate booklets in English and French translation.
I bought the set first hand in a sale 9 years ago. The discs are in excellent condition given that the box looks rather more second hand - you can see from the second picture that there is old adhesive where the original barcode was covered with the retailer's sticker. The spoke-clips holding the third and fourth discs of Siegfried are damaged.
This boxed set has been deleted from the catalogue - it's no longer possible to buy it new. It is the same set as the Phillips 1994 edition which is available - but that edition doesn't have booklets, libretti or jewel cases (the CDs are housed in envelopes).
