Description
Walt Dickerson A Sense Of Direction New Jazz 8268 purple label mono "shallow" groove
Walt Dickerson (vibes), Austin Crowe (p), Edgar Bateman (d), Eustis Guillemet, Jr. (b) Recorded 1961
Purple label "shallow" groove with "RVG" in the run outs both sides. "203 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J." address on back cover.
The record looks VG++ and plays VG+ to VG++ due to New Jazz pressing quality. Record plays with light surface noise due to vinyl quality that is audible during quiet passages. It's much quieter than many New Jazz pressings from this era. There's a V shaped scuff on last 2 tracks on Side 1. Side 2 looks clean. Grooves do not look gray or damaged.
The cover is VG+.
The front cover has light wear with some staining and fading. The back cover has moderate wear with hint of ring wear at the bottom. Top seam is split and untaped about halfway across. There's app 2 inches of tape at the pocket. Bottom seam and spine are intact. Corners have small spots of denting and wear.
I WILL BE RUNNING MONTHLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC BLUE NOTE, PRESTIGE, NEW JAZZ RIVERSIDE etc. MANY WEEKS AND MANY NICE ITEMS TO COME.
