Description
Walt Dickerson Quartet w Sun Ra Impressions Of A Patch Of Blue stereo MGM SE 4358 deep groove lion with rainbow label
Walt Dickerson (vibes), Sun Ra (p, harpsichord), Bob Cunningham (b), Roger Blank (d) Recorded 1965 or 1966
This is not a soundtrack of the film but rather "Impressions" of it. It's an uncompromising jazz album, much like Dickerson's later New Jazz lps and has little to do with the film score.
The record looks VG++/M-. The pressing is slightly noisy and the record plays VG++ with VG+ on quieter parts. Side 1 has a tiny scuff at the beginning and a scuff on track 3 that is not into the grooves. There's one or two pops on the track that might be due to pressing defect. Side 2 looks clean without scuffs or scratches.. Grooves are bright and glossy and look unplayed or nearly so.
The cover is VG+.
The front cover has moderate wear and ring wear with an "X" impressed into the cover at the top of the spine. At bottom at the pocket, there's some damage and a hole punch at the spine. The back cover has light to moderate wear with the same hole punch and the same "X". No split seams but bottom seam has some heavy wear. Spots of wear and denting at the corners. Spine is readable with a heavy wear spot at the bottom.
Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on cover.
I WILL NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY. PLEASE DO NOT ASK.
My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
