I'll be selling a few doubles from my collection this week, all records were bought and lovingly cared for until the moment their more desirable siblings showed up. Now I am making thm available to you.
I grade by strict Goldmine standards, I don't believe grades like G++++ or VG++++ exist, nor do I grade any of these records NM-.. I'm conservative and hoest with my grading. If you disagree we can always work something out.
For the sake of clarification, here are the grades.
- Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way.
- Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record.
- Very Good Plus (VG+) A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
- Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
- Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white).
- Poor (P), Fair (F) The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating.

The pressing is a deep groove 47 W. 63rd pressing and is in VG/VG+ shape. The album plays through fine, however there are minor scuffs and scratches, none too deep. At times, especially in the quieter passages one can hear a light crackle. However the music comes through loud and clear and is never overwhelmed by the record's imperfections.
The cover is VG, the laminated cover graphics are great looking. There is some minor storage wear, a bumped corner in the lower left and a bumped corner in the upper right. Seams look good with no splits, there is some minor flaking on the bottom seam, but nothing that looks too bad really.
Overall this is a great looking copy of a Blue Note rarity, it isn't an archive copy by any means, but will fill out the collection nicely.
