Description

This is an ultra rare 78 RPM record by early bluesman Walter Rhodes on vocals and accordian with backing by Pet and Can (Richard and Maylon Harney) on guitars. Recorded on December 10, 1927 in Memphis, with "The Crowing Rooster" on one side and the "Leaving Home Blues" on the other.  Rhodes only recorded a very limited number of sides on 78's. I can find no other of his records for sale on Ebay or that have been sold are far back as Sold listings are kept to search. This Walter Rhodes is not to be confused with the later musician, Walter 'Lightnin' Bug' Rhodes, who was not born until 1939. The record itself is in very good condition for a 90 year old. There is one very small rim chip on the "B" side and a few light scratches. It also has, as is visible in the pictures, a small strip of paper stuck on the label with the letter D repeated 6 times.
