Description
A half-century ago we began collecting 16" Broadcast Transcriptions. Many were in excellent condition, others unfortunately were starting to have chips in the acetate coating at the edges. We decided that the best thing to do would be to transfer those fragile treasures to tape and this is one of the items we transferred. A 1941 Wartime Broadcast of The Glenn Miller Orchestra's SUNSET SERENADE over the NBC-Blue Network, live from the Cafe Rouge of The Hotel Pennsylvania. Program includes Tex Beneke, Marion Hutton and The Modernaires. It was broadcast just a few days after Christmas and less than a month after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The complete program notes are included, listing each song and even the band personnel on each selection. It's in good condition. There are occasional breaks in the program as engineers were changing disks but it is a very listenable program. Songs include:
MOONLIGHT SERENADE

THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER
JINGLE BELLS
INTRODUCTION TO A WALTZ
THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER
OH, SO GOOD
TUXEDO JUNCTION
