Description
This is the 2020 Music Matters Jazz SRX Vinyl of Speak No Evil by Wayne Shorter, originally released by Blue Note Records in 1966. This is widely considered one of the finest and most important albums in the Blue Note Catalog. The Music Matters SRX series are the absolute peak of the peak of the Blue Note releases. SRX vinyl was a formula that was created to produce the absolute best sound reproduction with the lowest noise floor. Apparently the formula was hard to work with, so Music Matters only released a couple of titles using this formula, with Speak No Evil being among them. All of the perks of Music Matters are here, All analog, Kevin Gray, deluxe gatefold, crystal clear images and now the ultimate vinyl formulation.
This one is play tested at NM with the following notes:
-SRX is very quiet, but it is still a record. There are very occasional pops, far fewer than most records
-1 pop at the very end of Dance Cadaverous. (Could be static)
-A little bit of vinyl noise during the piano intro of Infant eyes.
Really an amazing sounding copy of this revolutionary record.
This record was ultrasonically cleaned.
Thank you for checking it out!
