Description
For sale is a cardboard backed 33 1/3 RPM flexi-disc that was offered by Western Union as a "Melody Gram", originally released in 1966, made by Editions Limited. I bought this used and immediately put it into a storage box for 45 RPM singles, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity. The outside envelope is graded as Very Good because of foxing, a small tear at the top and corner blunts with some color loss. The inside disc is held with a brass pin, that is then fastened onto a beautiful, colorful greeting card that is supposed to be hung up by its pink tassel. The condition of the greeting card is near Mint with bright, vivid colors without any large defects, just a small crease at the top. The disc can be removed from the greeting card by un-fastening the brass pin, then played at 33 1/3 RPM. The flexidisc is graded as Near Mint. Being a soft cardboard disc, there is an inherent quality issue, that affects playback. Since I never played it, there might be some background noise. I try to describe them to the best of my ability and use record grading guidelines like the Goldmine rating system as reference. Since retiring, I've begun to sell my very esoteric collection via my Ebay store (bobsanalogemporium) and will offer discounts for multiple sales. I always pack the items for sale in an archival inner sleeve, then put them in either a Kraft paper bubble mailer with sturdy cardboards or cardboard record mailers, always with the records separate from the jackets or its original picture sleeve, then sandwiched between sturdy cardboards before shipping.
