Whims of Chambers Paul Chambers Sextet Blue Note BLP 1534 mono LP. Double-sided deep groove pressing groove pressing with blue and white labels, 47 West 63rd NYC 23 address, RVG, ear.

Condition - Grading is Visual Under Bright Light, Will Play Test This Weekend

The cover is a nice VG+. The front cover graphics are beautiful, vivid  and striking.  The corners show some wear. The lower left front seam has some cracking, seams are nice otherwise with no splits.  The printing on the edge is sharp and clear. The back cover slick is clean and bright except for a signature in ink on the upper left corner. A pretty example of this cover.

LP is a strong glossy VG with some light sleeve wear, scuffs, and hairlines, nothing feelable or serious on either side. The marks do not cover the LP but there are more than a few. Labels are beautiful with light marks on each side visible under angled light. A solid example of this rare Blue Note LP.

I do plan to play test this record on Saturday and will post the results.

Overall not perfect or NM but a solid copy of a rare jazz LP. This copy should make some collector very happy. Check out my other auctions for more rare and interesting records. Winning auctions may be combined to save postage cost. Check out my feedback for results of recent rare record auctions.

Grading

Grading is SS (still sealed), NM, VG+, VG. The myriad of grading systems on Ebay is a good indicator of the subjective nature of grading. In my opinion NM is close to perfect with one or two very minor flaws, VG+ is above average and collectable and VG is average used condition but probably the best choice for playing. I'm a collector and try to describe LPs as accurately as possible, the way I would want them described to me. The pictures should at least give a good indication of the condition of the covers and labels. Please see my seller feedback for comments on my grading. If you don't agree with how I'm calling a record that is your privilege but with all respect please don't bid.
