ultra rare punk/powerpop/mod-era 7" single.
White Heat -Nervous Breakdown/Sammy Sez on Valium Records, a small private label. Cat No. Val001.
Original pressing would have been a couple of hundred probably.
This is from my own personal collection. It has NEVER been played. The sleeve is slightly aged colour-wise,, having been stored in a box (albeit in a pvc sleeve) but has no damage bar a tiny bit of folding top edge.
The record, obviously, is in perfect nick.
Bearing in mind this is from 1979, it's very unlikely that another one in this condition exists. People used to play them to death on cheap hifi back in the day, y'see.
Bizzarely,I never took this out of the sleeve and played it. Not punky enough for my tastes or summat. John Peel was a bit of a fan and I'd heard it on there.
White Heat were from the North East of England and this was their first single.
They then signed to Virgin but splt after another couple of singles.
Used beat-up copies apparently go for forty odd quid (if you can find one!), but I'll start this one lower with a Buy It Now option.
