The records i am listing, and will be in coming months, are from a private collection lovingly built up, and cared for, by an avid fan music fan and vinyl lover. They mostly span the 60's. 70's and early 80's and represented are heavy rock classics, prog rock and blues- rock classics , major artists early pressings from Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Free, Dire Straits, Yes , Deep Purple and many others including anumber of rarities. Each has been catalogued and stored in a way designed to preserve their condition. They have been played but remain Ex or VG+ in most cases, clearly each album is/will be graded according to the ebay guidelines below and unless otherwise stated will be played through prior to listing. Please do also view the pictures for further detail and read the descriptions below.
Overall Condition: Ex/VG+. Great classic rock album from great band with all the trademarks of the earliest pressing and release in 1971, stampers matrix numbers and the rarer MG12888 etched number plus McNeill cover with 'hidden' number all present as is the earlier matt Track label. Whilst not a near mint copy it is a better than respectable one and offered at a reasonable start price for a rare complete first press copy.
Cover: VG+ McNeill sleeve, which, including spine is solid with no splits or tears but does have some shelf wear shown in the pictures! The front of the cover has the barely visible 'hidden numbers' DL33789 in top left corner . To be frank you need a magnifying glass unless you have extremely good eyesight....
Vinyl: VG+/Ex. There are a few very light hairlines but retains a decent shine and plays well. There is some background static, side 1 more than 2, and not constant or even especially bothersome ( but that is always subjective) no pops clicks or jumps etc and no scratches. The audio, bar the static, is very clear, distortion free and the sound full . My guess is that if you have the ability to give it a deep clean the static would disappear - it will not have been cleaned for well over 20 years,if ever, other than an emtex cloth when played
Label: VG+/Ex Track matt black label with some spindle marks but otherwise very clean and unmarked
Inner sleeve: The first release headhunter inner poly/paper sleeve wich has no tears or splits and is fine
All items graded using the ebay guide as below but please do view the pictures for details and if you wish for any others I will try to respond to request.
"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint; EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing; VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable; GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc; FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced; POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing; BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
All records will be packed and posted carefully and securely in reinforced cardboard mailers. Please note I only send internationally as "International tracked/signed for" for which i charge a flat rate . If any item is not as you feel it was described please contact me and I will endeavour to sort out any problems amicably and without hassle. I have added some postal exclusions!
