This is a original Widespread Panic vinyl 45 single record, from 1986, their very first release.

I got this record directly from John Bell, in 1986.
In 1986, I was the program director for my college radio station in Richmond, VA.  I regularly received requests from touring bands who wanted to have their record played, or get on the air for an interview.  Sometime in 1986, I received a call from John Bell, who introduced himself as a member of a band called Widespread Panic, from Georgia.  John told me that he and his band were coming to Richmond for a gig at New Horizon Cafe, and asked if I would consider playing their new single, and perhaps hosting the band for an interview.  I had not heard of the band (it was 1986, after all, years before they became well known) but I agreed to listen to the band's record.  Unfortunately, their gig was on a Monday night, so they couldn't stop by my Monday night radio show, as they would have been on stage.  But John brought me this copy of the record on the day of their gig, and wrote me the note that you see on the sleeve.  You can see that John crossed out the word "can interview" as we had planned, because of their gig that night.  I definitely played the record, though!
I have had this record since I received it from John Bell in 1986.  Apparently there were only 500 copies pressed, and this is definitely one of those original copies, direct from the band.  It has only been played a few times, and has been safely and carefully stored in my collection since I received it, in my smoke and pet-free home.  The writing on the sleeve is a note to me, from John Bell.
Includes a Japanese protective inner sleeve inserted into the paper outer sleeve (see photos).
