Description
I am selling the SUPER RARE ORIGINAL 1970 vinyl release of the Wil Malone eponymous album
on the original FONTANA label.
Catalogue number STL5541
The sleeve is in very good condition.
There is some slight corner wear – the photos show the detail.
The sleeve edges are in very good condition.
The album is in its original inner sleeve, which has a little browning age marking.
I bought the record 40+ years ago from new, and have played it maybe a dozen times, mainly on a Goldring GL75P transcription deck.
I have always stored it in a vertical position, so it would not get warped.
The disc itself looks in great condition, no marks or scratches and plays cleanly.

Wil Malone is the extremely rare and hard to find psych album from 1970 by Wilson Malone, ex-member of psychedelic outfits Orange Bicycle andMotherlight.
According to music industry legend the LP was only available for two months in 1970 and sold in the region of 200 copies, it is also said that fewer than 30 copies have been known to exist or offered for sale in the last 20 years. An original copy has sold on ebay for £2.150!!!
Released on Fontana, catalogue number STL5541.
This superb record is reminiscent of a psychedelic Donovan but with a more baroque/pop feel. Using simple arrangements of cello, flute bass and acoustic guitar Wil Malone gently recites his fragile pastoral folk-like songs that are embellished with a beautiful production and the odd subtle studio effect (such as on the ghostly and trippy "Love In the Afternoon") A true forgotten classic somewhere in the no man's land between psychedelia and singer songwriter.??Cover artwork by the great Vertigo artist Keef.

Secure packaging is a bit of a concern to me, so I plan to follow best paractice guidelines of packaging inner sleeve and record poutside outer sleeve, with additional cardboard support and bubble wram, AND THEN sandwich this between two sheets of wooden plywood or similar, so there is NO chance of damage occurring during transit.
Of course, buyer can also collect, if desired.
On 06-Oct-15 at 10:27:00 BST, seller added the following information:It seems like I am not fully up on international postage and I can send packages to a UK ebay centre with the buyer paying for the ongoing international sector. Fine. So as far as I'm concerned, the Free Postage arrangement will apply for international buyers if they also use this system.
Also, I have found a box used for a boxed LP set, which I may be able to utilise as it is tailor made for the task. Be assured that the last thing I want is for the record to be damaged in transit, so it will be WELL packaged.
Also, I realise there are only a few days to go, but if any prospective bidder wishes to visit to actually view the record, I will be happy to facilitate.
Finally, if I misrepresent the condition of the record or sleeve and the buyer wishes to return it, then I will respect that completely. And this is what I meant by indicating “returns accepted”. Ebay doesn't seem to have a “returns” category covering this eventuality. It sounds wrong to say that returns will not be accepted, the other ebay option, when I will accept return if I have misrepresented the description.
