- Artist & Title: Wilderness Road – Wilderness Road
- Label & Cat #: 1972 Columbia – C 31118 Stereo
- Vinyl Grade: Excellent (EX) play graded *superb copy playing without any noise disturbances and vinyl displaying some superficial scuffs
- Cover Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+) *jacket has light shelf & storage wear with some seam wear, heavier on top with wear spots
- Notes: Wilderness Road was founded in 1968 by musicians Warren Leming, Nate Herman, and relatives Andy and Tom Haban. The group, which performed an elaborate stage show, drew on American folklore, and was active in the Anti-War, and Peace Movements of the late Sixties and early Seventies central to Chicago's counterculture movement of the period. The group was originally formed to raise money for the Chicago Seven. The band also held staged events in the early 1970s such as the "Passover-Easter Spectacular" and "The Last Brunch", and also made commercials for places like "Spinoza's Torah Center".
- BONUS POSTERS: Included in auction are two posters (12" x 18") advertising upcoming shows that Wilderness Road would be playing at Ratso's, a jazz club on the North Side of Chicago. I wasn't able to identify what year they are from. They are both in quite good shape, although the "No Eyes Hooligan" poster has a small tear in top LH corner. Both posters were folded at one time, so there is a slight fold crease in the center. The credits at the bottom of the posters list "DORE: ZMIEWSKI STUDIO." Lester Dore was the longtime art director at The Chicago Seed, an underground newspaper that published from 1967-74. Paul Zmiewski was a contributing artist who did many covers for the paper. The actual creator of the artwork may have been Skip Williamson, famed Underground Comix artist. He had produced a single comic book for distribution at the band's shows and was a regular contributor to The Chicago Seed.

GRADING STANDARDS: (M) Mint: Record and cover appear absolutely perfect in every way. Grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.
(NM) Near Mint: Vinyl is shiny with no obvious signs of wear and plays perfectly with no audible imperfections. Cover is close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident.
(EX or VG++) Excellent /Very Good ++: Record or jacket has a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Light paper scuffs and/or spindle marks may be visible with no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Covers show very minor signs of handling and wear.
(VG+) Very Good Plus: Record displays light scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that may create some noise disturbances, but don't affect one's overall listening experience. Jacket begins to show more prominent signs of storage wear and aging.
(VG) Very Good: Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming.
(G) Good / (G+)Good Plus: Vinyl will have scratches and visible groove wear. Record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. Jackets have even more pronounced defects such as seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects.
