There have been many words of much-deserved praise heaped on Willie Nelson by people more talented with words than I am. But I would like to add a few simple, sincere words about my dear friend, Willie Nelson, whom I consider one of the most exciting and refreshing talents of our day.


For many months now I've had the pleasure of working alongside this big talent on personal appearances and our television show. He never ceases to amare and thrill me with his tremendous ability. He has a wonderfully relaxed and sincere delivery on all songs, whether he's doing a number he wrote himself or an old standard that we all have sung many times.


A songwriter himself, Willie has a special appreciation of other songwriters. His treatment of their songs makes them seem almost new and more appealing than ever. To name three in this album: San Antonio Rose, Columbus Stockade Blues and Home in San Antone. Hear the "Willie Nelson style" at its best!


Standing beside him, I've seen musicians and fans, like myself, completely hypnotized by Willie's rendition of these and other great songs.
