This LP has been play graded. The lead-in groove is not cut correctly so it's longer in spots and looks to be off-centered. However the album plays perfectly fine and cartridge does not move laterally. Just be careful when putting it on to play. Side A track 1 has 3 light pops. Side B tracks 2 and 3 have light pops. EX

Willie's first ever Reggae album featuring country classics and reggae standards including: "The Harder They Come," "Sitting In Limbo" and a cover of Johnny Cash rarity "I'm A Worried Man" featuring Toots Hibbert.
After nearly a decade of gestation, Willie Nelson's long-lost, and first, reggae set is at last complete. The seed of this project took root in late 1995, sprung from the mind of famed producer Don Was. Nelson and his manager Mark Rothbaum flew to Jamaica to meet with Island Records president and founder Chris Blackwell.
The album was recorded but due to a long series of mergers, acquisitions, label turnovers and general industry turmoil, the album was left on the shelf. In 2004, Lost Highway founder Luke Lewis hired former Island A&R VP Kim Buie and Countryman was reborn.
Countryman is Willie's impassioned tribute to the upstroke sound of Jamaica, an irie voyage to the land of dub and dreadlocks. Willie takes a handful of his own classics and filters them through a reggae prism, peppering them with his nylon acoustic guitar, pedal steel, dobro, harmonica and the familiar comforts of country, while binging drums and bass to the forefront, yard style. Willie also tackles a couple of reggae classics from the notorious and acclaimed Jamaican film soundtrack The Harder They Come including the title track and "Sitting in Limbo". Reggae star Toots Hibbert also guests on the Johnny Cash cover "I'm a Worried Man". In short, after a decade-long journey Willie's Jamaican vision at last sees the bright light of day.
