Description
Wilson Audio W-806, Music for Christmas. James Welch playing the Murray Harris/E. M. Skinner IV/70 organ of Stanford Memorial Church. Recorded in 1976/77/78, largely in live performances. Organ literature by Bach, Pachelbel, Henri-Paul Busser, Richard Purvis, Robert Elmore, Karg-Elert, Schroeder, Langlais; also included are two songs by James Welch sung by Nancy Wait or Sheryl Lee Wilson. As the jacket notes indicate, this is a very mellow organ with plenty of bass and little brilliance: “This record will reward subwoofer owners, while not threatening their tweeters.”
Jacket and record NM-, visually excellent though not dead silent. Autographed by James Welch on back cover. (No inscription, just a signature.)
