Originally released in 1978, Wings Greatest was the first ever compilation of Paul's post-Beatles hits, featuring four classics that had previously been unavailable on any McCartney album: "Another Day", "Junior's Farm", "Hi, Hi, Hi" and "Mull of Kintyre". The penultimate Wings album release, Wings Greatest was naturally a worldwide hit, and the soundtrack to the '70s for a generation. As part of its original release, a 20"x30" two-sided poster is included.
The front cover of Wings Greatest depicts a chryselephantine (gold and ivory) statuette created by famed Art Deco sculptor Demetre Chiparus. This antique statuette was purchased by Linda McCartney at a 1978 auction and Paul McCartney decided this statuette would be ideal as the cover for the band's forthcoming greatest hits album.
The rear cover depicts the record covers of the twelve releases, mostly singles, from which each of the Greatest's songs were taken, in columns on either side of the album. In the middle is a photograph of Paul, Linda, and Denny Laine. The original photograph also had Jimmy McCulloch and Joe English, but both members had left the band by the time this greatest hits album was issued and, as a result, were airbrushed out.
Includes custom printed graphic inner-sleeve.

This version was pressed at the Capitol Records Pressing Plant in Winchester, Virginia and has ?? in runout.

Considered a Wings album, however A1 is performed by Paul McCartney and B1 is performed by Paul and Linda McCartney.
