Description
For sale is Wings Over America, originally released in 1976 by Capitol Records in a gate-fold presentation as a triple album set. I bought this record used, then professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the records into three MFSL archival inner sleeves. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeves or poster with this listing. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers F-2 #2/F-2 #2/F-2 #3/F-2 #2/F-2 #3/F-6, followed by "Wly", "Mastered by Capitol" and what appears to be a tipped over wine glass. This "glass" actually represents a Winchester rifle. All these etching indicate that the album was mastered by Wally Traugott at Capitol Studios and an early stamper was used to make this first edition that was pressed at Capitol's Winchester, Virginia plant. These hallmarks denote state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. The cover is graded as VG+ because of slight ring wear, corner blunts, edge wear, stress cracks along the spine. The spine has color loss from these rubs and stress cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent with the faintest of hairline sleeve marks. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have more Rock and Roll albums, as well as records of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're mostly Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
