This is an especially fine recording of pianist George Winston's concept of changing seasons, feathered and massaged into rather organic playing of solos for piano, named JANUARY STARS, FEBRUARY SEA, RAIN/DANCE, BLOSSOM MEADOW, and THE VENICE DREAMER, among others.
Note that this man's ability is utterly captivating, particularly his utilization of everything a piano has to offer. Yes, from the keyboard, from the plucking of the strings inside, he creates an atmosphere that is at once melodic yet primordial…as if, in the live acoustic he always chooses, we are hearing actual thoughts from the cave…musical thoughts, created by a great witnessing of the outdoors at that moment.
Note, too, this recording doesn't use an ounce of limiting or EQ. Simply as is, transferred from the 30-ips tapes, and 1/2 speed mastered by Stan Ricker.
A fine bit of music, here factory sealed.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
