THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'
1963 UK RARE MONO PRESSING LP
**ULTRA-RARE VARIANT**
This undocumented and incredibly rare UK mono variant carries 1st pressing 'Jobete' labels but has later '-7N-7N' matrices.
This variant has never been documented or believed to exist and is offered for sale here for the first (and maybe last) time.
The disc is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK...' text but include 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.
The side 2 label carries the incorrect 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' spelling.
The publishing credit for 'Money' is 'Jobete Mus NCB'.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
The rear panel carries the incorrect 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' spelling.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 447-7N & XEX 448-7N
Stamper numbers: 3,9/GMG & 2,6/GMP
Disc weight: 164g
Labels: EXCELLENT
Slight hole touch-up and some spindle marks but no further marks or wear to either.
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Both surfaces are clean and bright and retain their deep gloss shines with no groove-whitening from overplay or dull or clouded areas on either side.
There are a few light surface marks consistant with normal handling and play in strong daylight, but no deep or heavy marks or scratches anywhere.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than some light paper hairlines but no major faults.
Audio: EXCELLENT
Despite frequent play, this copy plays cleanly and clearly and without any groovewear or background noise on any track.
Apart from a few negligible light ticks between some tracks, there are no significant or major audible faults anywhere.
Rare in any condition.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
This respectable example retains a bright, unyellowed front panel with and unscratched laminate which bears just some small edge wrinkles but no major wear.
The corners have some minor shelfwear but no bumps or splits and both opening edges are clean, sharp and undamaged.
The rear panel is clean & bright with just a touch of toning towards the mouth but no writing or missing paper.
All flipbacks, seams and the spine are intact, unstressed & unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT MINUS
Some natural age-toning but otherwise clean & flat with no splits or tears.
