XEX 447 1N/448 1N
Rare -1 UK mono first pressing from 1963 with requisite *You Really Gotta Hold on Me* & *Jobete* label misprints
Firstly, the record:
Visually very nice.
The labels show some forgivable spindle marks but not to a gruesome extent & are otherwise clean.
A couple of marks & surface scratches commensurate with light use on either playing surface & but it generally looks pretty damn good for a 60 year old.
Play tested with no skips or jumps or much surface noise. The run ins are nice & quiet. Sounds deep & warm like a sixties mono copy should.
It's been professionally vacuum cleaned so it's nice & shiny. This has also optimised playback.
Secondly, the G & L sleeve:
Clean, strong & unmolested with a decent spine. Slightly edge worn with a couple of small tears at the back & a little laminate chip on the front but generally pretty handsome with the right side of the lad's faces printed very dark & the *Gotta* misprint to be expected.
Comes with lightly split original period Emitex inner which I've patched up with acid free archive tape.
A really nice item at a good starting price. Would make a great Christmas present.
