Due to overwhelming demand for this LP in late 1963, EMI contracted rivals Decca to press copies on their behalf.
This scarce & unusual 2nd pressing of their 2nd album is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1206
This unusual example is mispressed with side 2 labels on both sides.
Matrices: XEX 447-7N & XEX 448-7N
Stamper codes: 3,9 & 4
Vinyl weight: 151g
Housed in a 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed front laminated, tri-flipback mono cover.
Track 3, side 2 is spelt 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' on the rear panel.
Complete with original poly-lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Disc: EXCELLENT -
This disc has received a moderate amount of play but it free from any major visual or audible faults.
Both labels are clean with some damage to the yellow symbol on each side which appear to have been caused in the factory and not by the removal of any tape/stickers. Both playing surfaces are clean & retain an excellent deep-gloss shine with only a few very light wispy surface marks beneath halogen light. Audibly, some vinyl background is audible chiefly between tracks and on quieter passages, but there are no clicks, pops, jumps or any other significant distractions.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A very respectable example of this striking cover which bears light storagewear only.
The front panel is clean & glossy with a little storagewear rubbing and a single tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkle only. All corners are free from any bumps or bruising and both opening edges are undamaged. The exposed rear panel is extremely clean overall with no significant blemishes. There is some foxing along the lower flipback edge but both seams and the spine are smooth & unstressed.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT -
Clean and bright with just a small 1cm tear to one of the top edges.
