THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'

This final 1969 mono pressing of 'With The Beatles' is arguably one of the hardest pressings to find of all the UK pressings

Instead of printing up a batch of the new '1-EMI box' mono labels for this pressing, EMI used left-over stock of 1963 labels

The cover however did have to be reprinted which produced one of the rarest UK cover variants of all - a small 'mono' indicator

Both labels are standard '2nd pressing' variants, but without a purchase tax code in the centre of either

  The labels on this copy (above left) have slightly raised edges, a feature also present on the '1-EMI box' label, pictured above right

This copy is complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve

Labels: EXCELLENT +

Both are clean & bright with some light spindle trails around the side 1 centre hole but nothing visible on 2.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Extremely clean playing surfaces which retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss factory shine, bearing no significant marks or wear in strong daylight. Closer examination beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper hairlines but nothing I would call a scratch.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +

This copy has received a moderate amount of careful play on good quality equipment and as a result, the sound is clean, warm and totally unworn throughout. My single careful playcheck found no evidence of any groove/playwear distortion or background interference, even on the delicate 'Til there Was You'. Nor are there any ticks, clicks, jumps or any other audible faults or distractions. It is certainly amongst the best sounding pressing of this album I have come across.

Cover: VERY GOOD

Impossible to find in any condition. This rare cover has moderate handling & storagewear but no major faults. The front panel is clean with some moderate storage rubbing to the laminate but no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or creasing to any part. There is some light corner wear but both opening edges are undamaged. The rear panel displays moderate storage/handling wear but is free from any writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are in-place and both seams are smooth & unstressed.

The spine is cleanly and fully worded.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +

Clean & flat with no writing, tears or seam splits.
