GENNETT 5454 WOLVERINE ORCHESTRA Riverboat Shuffle/Susie - Condition E- some inaudible scuffs and very light scratches.
I am auctioning 1920’s 78 rpm jazz and hot-dance records from a collection which started almost 40 years ago.
Grading a record is very subjective and the usual grading system is often misused.
However, I believe that my grading is conservative and these are my standards (I do not use N and N-):
E+ An unworn record, shiny - mint.
E Virtually unworn and not quite as sparkling as an E+ but it plays just as good.
E- Some visible but virtually inaudible wear.
V+ More wear becoming slightly audible but still a very good record.
V Quite worn but still a servicable copy.
V- Very worn and much noise as a result but playable.
G My lowest grading – completely worn; a wallhanger.
Scuffs, scratches, cracks, digs etc. are separately mentioned.
