Description
This is a rare 1968 UK release of "Wonderwall Music" by George Harrison on Apple Records. It was the debut solo album by George Harrison from the soundtrack music which he composed for the 1968 film Wonderwall, directed by Joe Massot. It was also the first solo album by a member of the Beatles and the first album issued on the band's Apple record label.
The 12" vinyl LP features predominantly Indian style instrumental music, reflecting the influence of Harrison's interest in Indian classical music. The Indian pieces are contrasted by Western musical selections in the psychedelic rock, experimental, country and ragtime styles. (Source Wikipedia)
NOTE: This is a RARE MONO version (NOT STEREO as are many other versions listed on eBay) with a catalogue number of APCOR 1 and includes an insert with playlist.
The vinyl is in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition with a few light scratches and surface marks which does not affect the listening experience. The cover is also in VG+ condition.
The vinyl matrix numbers are APCOR 1A -1 and APCOR 1B -1.
This unique album showcases Harrison's innovative musical direction outside of his work with The Beatles.
