Original pressing. Rare Mono Version! Original pressing of Smokin' at the Half Note. Wynton Kelly. Wes Montgomery. A critically acclaimed live date. Verve V-8633. This is the far rarer and sought after mono version of this LP. Has Van Gelder in the dead wax and even is, unusually, a deep groove pressing. Yes, MGM owned Verve when this LP was originally issued. This is the version you want of this LP in the condition you want. This is a collectible copy of a sought after and rare jazz title. LP comes from a 30+ year collection of well-maintained and loved jazz and classical LPs. LP is play graded and cosmetic condition is described in detail below to ensure your satisfaction. This is a no reserve auction for a great jazz LP.

Vinyl is Near Mint. Very shiny and no groove wear. The LP plays like new in super mono, live sound. The soundstage is rich and the music is upfront, full bodied and clear. There are no skips and no hisses. Just a "black" silent background with loud and proud music on top. This LP will play as new on your turntable and be a nice addition to your collection of rarer titles.

Cover is Excellent. No seam splits, writing or stickers. Great front and back graphics. Nominal wear. One practically unnoticeable "X" machined impression about one inch in size at the lowest left of the front cover. Perhaps a discontinued inventory mark. It is not stamped, merely impressed into the cardboard and is therefore hard to see and in no way detracts from the quality of the cover. Cover looks great and is commensurate with the high quality vinyl.

Shipping: Given the value of this LP, shipping will be by priority mail only and insurance will be included to protect both parties. Shipping will be $11 for the continental US. If you insist on media mail shipping in the US, it must be done solely at your risk. Sorry. Shipping will be at actual cost to Hawaii, Alaska and outside the United States. LP cleaned on VPI machine. Package will be shipped with LP inside a high quality anti-static sleeve. The LP will be outside the cover. The cover and sleeve LP will be in a high-gauge clear mylar LP collectors sleeve. Entire package will be safely packed in a new LP mailer.
