Hello! Thank you to my followers who waited patiently for me to start listing again. As you know, I sold a huge collection a few months back and am just getting back to grading and posting. Keep your eyes open for more, this is just the beginning!

By the late '70s, punk rock and hardcore were infiltrating the Los Angeles music scene. Such bands as Black Flag, the Germs, and, especially, X were the leaders of the pack, prompting an avalanche of copycat bands and eventually signing record contracts themselves. X's debut, Los Angeles, is considered by many to be one of punk's all-time finest recordings, and with good reason. Most punk bands used their musical inability to create their own style, but X actually consisted of some truly gifted musicians, including rockabilly guitarist Billy Zoom, bassist John Doe, and frontwoman Exene Cervenka, who, with Doe, penned poetic lyrics and perfected sweet yet biting vocal harmonies. Los Angeles is prime X, offering such all-time classics as the venomous "Your Phone's Off the Hook, but You're Not," a tale of date rape called "Johnny Hit and Run Paulene," and two of their best anthems (and enduring concert favorites), "Nausea" and the title track. While they were tagged as a punk rock act from the get-go (many felt that this eventually proved a hindrance), X are not easily categorized. Although they utilize elements of punk's frenzy and electricity, they also add country, ballads, and rockabilly to the mix.

A note about my grading: I think the Goldmine grading system leaves far too many gaps, so while I use that as a base, I have my own system. The difference between VG+ and NM should have way more steps between it than 1. I've graded tens of thousands of records, and you definitely need a bigger range than VG+ to NM (I consider anything less than VG+ to be not even worth owning unless it's so rare that it's all you have until a listenable record can replace it). Please read below.
VINYL GRADING:
SS ~ Sealed records : Still sealed in original shrink wrap
MINT : Pristine, perfect and flawless. Usually reserved for sealed records
NM ~ NEAR MINT : The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The very slightest signs of use, truly near mint. May have a few slight paper scuffs on the vinyl that shuldn't affect play.
EX+ : The record will show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. There should be no obvious defects (Scratches/Warps). Just a tiny step below NM
EX : Light use is evident, either slight needle marks or scuffs. This grade record is still an exceptional play copy.
VG++ : Use is evident but not bad. Record has some marks , very light scratches, though not feelable. Will definitely play through with no skips.
VG+ : Average used record, looks OK, plays OK, some noise is possible. Some scratches, may be feelable, but will still play without skipping. Record was played but was reasonably cared for.
VG : Vinyl has some groove wear or several scratches or some significant scratches. This record will play with noise that does not overwhelm the music.
G : Significant surface noise, scratches, visible groove wear , may skip or repeat.
Grades for covers: M : perfect. no wear, square flat corners, solid seams, spine etc., Usually sealed NM : overall appearance of front and back near perfect but may have a very small problem such as a small corner ding/couple tiny spine chips, but nothing noticeable without close inspection. EX : as above, nice "un-handled" feel, but may have more spine wear, a bent or dinged corner or two, very light ring wear, but rarely any splits or tears. VG+: Between VG and EX (usually closer to an EX grade), NO major seem splits over a an inch or two, No visible water damage. Edge chipping and smaller splits possible, ring wear, and small name or writing possible but should be noted. VG: Still has a decent overall appearance, but may have split seams, spine splits, tears, staining, water damage, or other fault VG- to G: Significant wear.
