Description
Tocsin LP by Xmal Deutschland, 1st US pressing on 4AD, distributed by Rough Trade. Comes with printed inner sleeve listing song titles and album credits. A rare opportunity to own an original record from 1984 by German goth legends. All songs are sung in German. When translated into English, the lyrics can be surprisingly dark at times. Conservatively graded as VG+ for the vinyl, VG for the outer sleeve which has some wear at the corners and edges commensurate with a well-cared for, but definitely played 40 year old record. There is also some slight staining on the back of the outer sleeve, see detail photo. The printed inner sleeve is in VG+ condition, but does have a small split along the bottom edge where the vinyl record has rested on it. This is truly a beautiful album full lush synthesizers, drums, electric guitar, bass, and vocals that could be compared to Siouxsie Sioux, though it feels unfair to have to compare someone with such a great voice as lead singer, Anja Huwe, to anyone. Xmal Deutschland has been gaining renewed attention with the 2024 release of both Anja Huwe's first solo album and Xmal Deutschland's early singles collection. This is a great opportunity to own one of their best albums, with that classic 80s 4ad sound.
