THE YARDBIRDS - SELF TITLED "Roger The Engineer" XAX 3126-1/XAX 3127-1 1RO/1RM STAMPERS Year:1966 Cat:SX6063
- On offer here is a superb sounding first press mono copy of this classic Yardbirds debut album.
- The Garrod & Lofthouse flipback laminated cardboard sleeve is fairly flat with a few light thumb wrinkles and a light crease at top right corner. The laminate has not lifted anywhere. The top and bottom edges and spine are fully intact. The sleeve opening has some feathering and a tiny split at the botton corner. The rear of the sleeve is quite clean with no writing, just some age browning and slight laminate grubbiness along the bottom. Very diffiicult to find in much better condition these days.. Graded VG+.
- The polylined Patents Pending inner has some age browning but very little creasing. Graded VG.
- The thick vinyl has clearly been played a few times but this has not affected the audio at all. Under strong light the vinyl still has great gloss but with a number of light marks and a couple scuffs to each side, but no scratches. Visually graded VG. The labels are still clear and bright with slight spindle wear and quite a few spindle trails. Side 2 label has the embossed KT tax code. When played Side 1 is superb after slight noise on the lead in and is playgraded EX+. Side 2 has slight noise on the lead in and between tracks but again the audio is great!. Playgraded EX.

My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
+ or - indicates a grading in between categories
