YARDBIRDS UK BLUE BLACK COLUMBIA BLUES PSYCH LP ROGER

This is a great blues beat psych LP entitled 'Yardbirds' by The Yardbirds. It's affectionately known as 'Roger the Engineer' because of the picture on the front cover. This LP was originally released in 1966 on the UK Columbia label (catalogue no.SX 6063). This is a mono pressing. The music is superb and the influence of The Yardbirds on the future of rock music goes without saying. It's a very fine record and the line-up is special. 

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is in fine condition. It's laminated on the front and is a flipback type. It states 'mono' in the top front right hand corner. There is some creasing on the front and rear covers. The top and bottom edges are in fine condition with no damage and just very minor wear at the mouth of the sleeve. The spine is also in great condition and the wording along the spine is 95% readable. The flipbacks are in great condition with no damage but some evident creasing. There is very minor feathering along the mouth of the sleeve. The rear sleeve shows some minor discolouration but is in overall fine condition. However, there is some evidence of clear tape which has been attached to the sleeve and has subsequently, been removed without having damaged the sleeve itself. It states in the bottom rear right hand corner - 'EMI RECORDS (The Gramophone Company Ltd.) HAYES - MIDDLESEX - ENGLAND - Made and Printed in Great Britain). 6608 LL Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents pending SX 6063  SCX 6063'. I have graded the sleeve as VG+. 

INNER SLEEVE - This an EMI paper company sleeve which features black and white photos of album covers by other EMI artists on both sides. There is a minor split at the bottom of the inner sleeve but this has been invisibly repaired with clear tape from the inside. There is some minor discolouration on both sides. I've graded the inner sleeve as Ex--.

RECORD - The record itself looks clean with some very superficial minor marks which do not affect the quality of the recording. There is minor surface noise which is audible between tracks and there are very occasional pops and clicks. There are definitely no jumps on any of the tracks. The black labels with silver wording are in lovely condition with some spindle marks. The record has been well played. There is no damage to the labels on either side. These labels feature the blue musical note and COLUMBIA logo and it states under these - 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'. The matrix numbers (YAX.3126 on side one and YAX,3127 on side two) are printed in silver on the left hand side of each label. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - YAX 3126 -1 (stampers 1      P) - side two - YAX 3127 - 1 (stampers 1    H). I have graded the record as Ex-- and I believe that this is very fair. I try to grade everything as accurately and conservativel as possible. I am sure that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed.
