MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Atlantic Records very first STEREO press released in 1978 in Chile by Asociación Fonográfica Nacional “ASFONA” M.R. (ASFONA Records), with red/black Atlantic Records labels, catalog number SD 19106, with hand etched matrix numbers SD-19106-A MSM-C in Side 1 and SD-19106-A MSM-C in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of each sides is written the exact day of pressing, “16-1-78” (January 16th of 1978)!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“GOING FOR THE ONE” was originally released in July 1977 and it seems, like with other albums by Yes, we had to wait a time to see this great album released in Chile, because it was released in January 1978 here and like so many times of the period we got it with an UNIQUE NON-LAMINATED COVER, made of 3 single pieces of thin cardboard, the right half keeps the record and back cover is pasted on the flips, the left half is attached on the left flips of right half. If you know this album you know the design is a tri-fold cover, in Chile it’s only a gatefold cover, the part with the tree on the sea was omitted (you can check the artwork, tracklist and credits in this link: http://www.discogs.com/Yes-Going-For-The-One/release/6194176. Front, back and inside covers keep strictly the original artwork, with the album title written in English only and the tracklist placed in what’s the original second part of inside cover, written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters, ASFONA Records logo at top left corner, “El Disco Es Cultura” (The Record Is Culture) logo at bottom left corner, Atlantic Records logo and catalog number at bottom right corner and information about ASFONA Record at bottom edge, at top right corner, below the Yes logo with the album title it’s the tracklist written in Spanish only. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for songwriters and timing of each song. It’s interesting to notice that in cover the sides are identified “Lado 1” (Side 1) and “Lado 2” (Side 2) but in labels they are only “A” and “B”. WOW!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from this side of the world, NEVER SEEN BEFORE in eBay, a MUST for all fans and collectors of Yes!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition, clean and complete, with no rips, writings, no missing parts, no tears, some general wear in all edges, more evident in corners, some creases and light ring marks, some edges have residues of tape which some past owner used to prevent seam splits and it seems it worked well because the cover doesn’t have seam splits but the residues of the tape are still there. The record is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with many scuffs and light hairlines, with very soft scratches, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in superb EX+ or NM- condition, absolutely clean and clear, no marks, no writings at all, only some spindle hole wear. The sound is the best part, it’s in absolute EX or EX+ condition, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with light crackles and some occasional light clicks here and there, more evident in silent parts, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the great sound quality this record keeps from the beginning to the end, sure this record could need a professional vacuum cleaning or even ultrasonic to get a better sound quality!!! Overall, a fabulous record, maybe not for strict audiophiles or Minty minds, but with a cover still in decent shape and the record with still keeps a nice glossy look and superb sound quality after almost 40 years!!! WOW!!! Another classic rock album edited in Chile with UNIQUE COVER and date of pressing of each side in the deadwax!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first.
