MIRACLES
1972 UK LONDON STEREO SHU 8431
1L - 1L
Here is a very rare original 1972 uk first pressing of this superb Yma Sumac funky-psych-prog rock album, uk copies really are very hard to find and they very rarely get offered for sale. This copy is superb, the vinyl is in very clean EX+ barely played condition, all tracks play and sound brilliant throughout. The front laminated cover is also in really excellent condition. This is a really great very clean playing copy that will definitely not disappoint in any way.

WOW!!!..What a really stunning powerful voice. Yma Sumac was a noted Peruvian soprano. In the 1950s, she was one of the most famous proponents of exotica music and became an international success, based on the merits of her extreme vocal range, which was said to be "well over four octaves" and was sometimes claimed to span even five octaves at her peak.
Almost twenty years after teaming up with Les Baxter to produce the legendary 'Voice of the Xtabay', Yma Sumac and Baxter joined forces again to record 'Miracles'. It was an ambitious project to say the least. Here's a bit of what the liner notes say: "Acclaimed for her powerful and unique artistry, Miss Sumac achieved world fame during the Fifties with the use of Mr. Baxter's productions. He has chosen to record Yma in a contemporary setting with a four-piece rock band and modern recording techniques. The results are a stunning showcase for an unparalleled performer.".
Yma Sumac's early recordings are exotica at it's very best, but this superb sounding album 'Miracles' must come under the musical category of funky-psych-prog, the grooves are choc full of great tracks containing some superb lead psych guitar, excellent hammond organ and some great rock drumming and heavy prog bass guitar. The whole album is musically superb and will definitely not disappoint the psych-prog fan.
With this listing i have provided two complete MP3s. These MP3s are the first and last tracks on the album, everything else in-between is similar sounding. Please just click the play buttons below to hear these tracks from this excellent prog album.

STEREO VINYL = EX+/NM
The stereo vinyl is in superb very clean playing condition and grades EX+ to NM. Both sides still have a really excellent original deep glossy sheen, there are no nasty surface marks or scratches at all, there is a just one noticeable light top surface mark on side one that starts half way through track four and goes into track five, this small light mark is not at all serious and has no affect on play and apart from this one mark both sides look barely played at all. All tracks play and sound superbly well throughout with no loud clicks or pops and no annoying loud crackle. This rare album has only ever had just a few careful plays on a decent turntable so there is no lessoning in the sound quality at all. This is just a really brilliant very clean playing copy that will not disappoint.
PLUM LONDON LABELS = NEAR MINT
Both labels are in near mint very clean and bright wear free condition and look very close to new. I can see just one spindle trace on each side, this is good indication that this rare album has been barely played at all.
FRONT LAMINATED COVER = EX
The front laminated single cover is in excellent clean condition. The front lamination is in great shape with no creases or lines, there are just a few small cracks along the spine. The matt back is also in really nice condition with just a few very small light traces of storage wear at the top and bottom. The top and bottom edges and the spine are free of wear and all spine text in clear and easy to read.
