Description

Yoko Ono, Approximately Infinite Universe

Yoko Ono, Approximately Infinite Universe.

With The Plastic Ono Band, Elephants Memory, Endless Strings and Choir Boys.

A more accessible LP than some of the earlier experimental affairs, but still with some wild moments.

Original 1973 UK pressed Apple Records stereo double LP set housed in gatefold sleeve with Yoko Ono's essay "The Feminization of Society" printed over full colour photo inner of gatefold, SAP 102.

Includes both original lyric inner sleeves with diagonally cut corners and thumbing grooves to top.

Matrix Numbers:

Record One: SAP 101 A-2U / SAP 101 B-2U

Record Two: SAP 102 A-1U (etched 'PORKUM') (SAPDO 1002 A-1U crossed out) / SAP 102 B-1U (etched 'PECKUM') (SAPDO 1002 B-1U crossed out)

Mothers/Stampers:

Record One: H 1 / O 1

Record Two: R 1 / GR 1

Vinyl near mint. LPs and labels still have that as new gloss. Note that any dark marks visible to the vinyl surfaces in the photo are merely shadows/reflections from overhead foliage. Just one or two of the wispiest of spider trail marks are detectable at centre spindle areas. The playing surfaces are free of any marks save for one or two of the very fainest and tiniest of wispy and superficial hairline sleeve removal scuffs.

Playback has been fully tested and surfaces are clean and quiet. I heard just two or three very soft and isolated static dust clicks during entire playback.

Inner sleeves EX. Clean and unmarked. Some ringwear creasing along the outline of the vinyl. No seam splits, creasing or tears, bar one miniscule nick to one thumbing groove inner area at top.

External gatefold sleeve a solid VG. Overall still bright and structurally sound and not sufferering tiredness or excessive handling wear. No marks, stains, inscriptions or sticker marks. There is visible ringwear scuffing to front panel and less markedly so to rear panel. The sleeve has very slight overall bowing, i.e. when laid flat with front uppermost, the corner areas are slightly raised. This would probably iron out with storage and is not a great distraction. There is a slight ding, without loss, to the centre of spine. These are the three main things that prevent a higher grade. The inner of the gatefold is in excellent and unmarked condition. Seams are in overall clean condition and without splits. A little storage whitening scuffing, mainly to bottom right corner, else little and isolated. Aside from the previously mentioned dink the spine still has a good appearance with hairlining but not extensive whitening or surface loss. The entry side has just the gentlest of dinking but is not worn or feathered.

On the whole a top grade vinyl set with excellent inner liners and an acceptably clean but not perfect outer sleeve.
