ONE OF THE BEST RECORDS EVER MADE is Victor 21398: PAUL WHITEMAN AND HIS ORCHESTRA playing "YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME." This is no exaggeration! Everything is top-notch here. Here is the Whiteman band at its astounding musical peak in the spring of 1928. "Advantage" features a wonderful Bill Challis arrangement, a sizzling, rare and HOT "chase" chorus by Bix Beiderbecke (cornet) & Frank Trumbauer (c-melody sax); an epically casual vocal by (the uncredited!) Bing Crosby, sumptuous Victor Orthophonic engineering - - A stunning, perfect, performance by all hands. What a moment!
Same kudos for "DO I HEAR YOU SAYING?" on the flip. Both tunes are from "Present Arms," the hit 1928 Broadway show by Rodgers & Hart.
I'd venture to say that on every creative level, this record is one of the peak moments of all American popular culture.
This original 1928 "Scroll" Victor 21398 is in nice E- condition. A slight bit of moisture damage.

I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!
