Description
This is the 1974 "YOU" UK LP by GONG.
It is an original version issued in 1974 on the VIRGIN label, number V2019.
This LP was the third in Gong's Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy of albums, following the "Flying Teapot" and "ANGEL'S EGG" albums
This edition came with a lyric sheet insert which is included in this sale (see picture).
It is an early UK 1st press which was purchased in 1974, and has the following matrix numbers:
- Side 1: V 2019 A - 1U
- Side 2: V 2019 B - 2U

Record is EX+, nice sheen, the vinyl and record label are completely unmarked.
It plays superbly, with just some feint background noise in the quieter moments.
There are no noticeable spindle marks and the LP looks like new.
The cover is non laminate and is EX+, which has retained the bright colours and clean finish, and has no ringwear on the front cover, which is unusual for non laminated black covers of this age.
There is very minimal handling wear only on the corners and bottom edge, and it looks much newer than a 36 year old cover.
There is no ringwear on the back cover either, just a feint partial record impression if you look for it in strong lighting conditions.
The lyric sheet is EX+, and is in nice shape
The record will be packed in a stiff package specifically designed for sending vinyl throught the post, with added protection on the corners.
