Description
This is a vintage (1950's) original Disneyland On Records Musical Map by Mattel with original envelope. This map is uncut and has 5 records with the original plastic sheet still attached and covering the records. (The plastic sheet may be causing some glare on the records). It shows a vintage panorama of Disneyland. There are also character cutouts (still uncut and attached to map) that when assembled were to be placed on the tone arm of the record player. The directions for assembly of the characters are on the back of the envelope. This piece is marked "Copyright Walt Disney Productions Litho In U.S.A." and has a "Stock No. 529". The 5 records (78 RPM) are #1 Introduction To Disneyland, #2 Tomorrowland, #3 Fantasyland, #4 Frontierland and #5 Adventureland. There is a slight bend by Donald Duck and bend near where the first record "cut" line is. There is very little wear overall to the map and the graphics are nice and bright. The envelope has a light water mark and "shelf wear". The map, when unfolded, it is approximately 14 1/4 inches by 42 5/8 inches. The envelope is approximately 14 1/2 inches by 7 3/8 inches. At the time of this printing, Disneyland had 160 acres! If you plan on cutting this apart (which I doubt!), I have no idea if the records would play. This is a unique, vintage item to add to a Disney collection. Please look closely at all pictures and ask questions before bidding. We try to describe all items as accurately as possible. Comes from a smoke free home. Thanks for looking and please check out my other listings.
