Description
Here's a rare 1931 Grafton, Wisconsin Paramount recording, on the Broadway label, made only a few months before that company expired in the Depression: JOHNNY DAVIS AND HIS ALL-STARS in two very pleasant fox trots, "YOURS AND MINE" (L-674) and "WEDDING OF THE BIRDS." (L-675).
This almost certainly is Johnny "Scat" Davis, playing trumpet and leading his band, doing one-nighters in the Midwestern wild, before he struck out for New York and eventual fame in the movies. As you all know, he went on to sing "Hooray for Hollywood" in WB's "Hollywood Hotel," which still is the 'go-to' recording of that song.
This scarce Broadway 1422 is in quite respectable V++ condition.
