I Feel No Ways Tired In 1979, the three of us decided to continue the tradition that we started doing with our father, the late Cortelyou Odell Badgett, Sr., since we were very young, singing acappella.Cleo sings lead,Celes sings tenor and Connie sings alto. Sometimes as we sing, it seems as though we can hear Daddy’s voice blending in and that is the reason we chose as our title for the album, THE VOICE THAT REFUSED TO DIE, because we feel that he is still alive in our voices. Our love for this style of singing has carried us to folklife festivals, churches, schools, prisons and mental hospitals throughout the state of North Carolina. Acapella music is something that has always been a part of our lives and is somethingthatwe enjoy doing very much. We don’t need large crowds to perform to and we try very hard to give the audiences our VERY BEST, be it one or one thousand. To be able to singacappella isa great talent and a gift from God and we are thankful for this gift. Hopefully, we will give to the world something that it will appreciate and remember in years to come. Our motto is: “We Go Where Our Music Takes Us.” f & —The Badgett Sisters THE BADGETT SISTERS c/o Connie Steadman Rt. 1, Box 215 Yanceyville, NC 27379 Recorded by Bobby Patterson, Heritage Records, Galax, Va Engineered by Bobby Patterson and Glenn Hinson Album design by The Badgett Sisters Photography by Paul DeShazo Special thanks to Paul and Alice Robinson 1986 Three Sisters Records, Route 1, Box 215, Yanceyville, N.C. 27379 TO YOU DAD It's hard to realize, Dad But it’s true.
