Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner, never played and came directly from the pressing plant/record company warehouse unless otherwise noted.
Albums are shipped in a 3 MIL poly sleeve.
The Seller acquired this album new from Capitol Records as an in-store play copy in 1971. He never took these records out of the cover and the album has been in storage for 44 years. So it was a surprise to both of us when I took them out to inspect and photograph and discovered that Side Two has the wrong label on it! The label is for Side Two of "Imagine" John Lennon Plastic Ono Band (with The Flux Fiddlers) Apple SW 3379 (see photos above). I can tell from the matrix number, band widths and the timings that the record is Side Two of "FLY". Somehow the wrong Apple label was applied when the records were pressed.
This is why I have never trusted unopened shrink wrapped records. Mistakes did happen during the manufacturing and collating processes. Obviously that makes this one unique from all of the other copies of this album.
- Mint Condition means this album has NEVER BEEN PLAYED.
- This is a Double Album in a glossy Gatefold cover.
- The paper sleeves have credits, notes, lyrics and Yoko's drawings on all four sides.
- A poster is included. I was careful not to completely unfold it to photograph so it wouldn't tear or crease. That is why it isn't laid out flat in the photo.
- A 3x5 postcard is also included and both sides are in the photos above.
- There is a clean drill punched hole in the upper right corner of the cover, sleeves and poster.
- John and Yoko were the Producers.
- Musicians included John, Ringo, Clapton and Klaus Voorman among others.
- Since it never sold much this probably the first and only pressing of the original release. I can't tell from the matrix numbers.
