RAREST OF THE RARE!!
Up for your review is a very RARE Test Pressing of Zapp’s first album, entitled ‘Zapp!’ This is the great album that first featured the extraordinary Roger Troutman and showcased the vocoder (talk box)! Included on this great album is the amazing “More Bounce To The Ounce” along with five (5) other great tracks! This original black vinyl record has plain white labels on both sides, with only Warner Bros. Records Inc. & copyright info on each side. There is a special Warner Bros. ‘cue sheet’ that details the record’s information, including the date of this pressing (5/20/1980), album release date (7/30/1980), track listing, art dept. info and more.
This is one of the rarest Roger Troutman/Zapp memorabilia items you can buy - please bid accordingly! You will probably NOT ever find another, especially in this condition! We have looked online since we started on eBay and have never seen another one - only a Zapp II (1982) test pressing.
The album has been a part of our Radio Station collection and has in our possession for over 30 years! On the runout area in the center of the record, there are the identifying numbers (BSK-1-3463 LW-1 & BSK-2-3463 LW1), also 2 stars and ‘Mastered by Steve Zentz, LA CA’ - on each side!
This record has never been played and is in nearly mint condition. We have kept the set in a protective sleeve for the last 20+ years. The record is housed in a black jacket (with hole) and a white insert. We have placed the record company insert in a separate plastic sleeve with a protecting backboard to help preserve it.
