Up for grabs an original RUBEN & THE JETS (aka Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention) "Cruising With Ruben & The Jets" 12" vinyl LP album, 1968 (first press) release on Verve/Bizarre (V6/5055X on label, V6 5055-X on back sleeve) blue/silver spike label, matrix nos.V6-5055-X SIDE-1 MGS-1532/SIDE-2 MGS-1533, heavy cardboard gatefold cover with lyrics inside, "Mothers V6-5055X" black sticker top right corner (first press only), original Verve artists-wheel printed inner, US made, condition cover/spine: Near Mint, vinyl/labels: pristine Mint (actual pics shown, zoom over).

Originally released 1968 same year with "We're Only in it for the Money", Zappa's farewell to the rock 'n' roll era ended by the British Invasion, tribute to the appeal of inspired amateurism a doo-wop truth rediscovered by Punk a decade later. With Mothers in their full original lineup Don Preston/Ian Underwood coming from Free Jazz, Art Tripp (with Captain Beefheart) et al. This is the only way to trace the original work as the FZ CD version is heavily overdubbed, out of print, ultra-rare (genuine) Mint condition straight from the '60s.
