Zenzile Featuring Marion Brown Original Japanese pressing on the rare Baystate records (RVJ-6009) from 1977. Unfortunately the people at the Baystate records put this rare Japanese record in the wrong sleeve: it is in the even rarer Black Renaissance cover, also on Baystate record (RVJ-6006). This record is being sold as it is: in the wrong sleeve. Hopefully the condition makes up for that: The sleeve is in EX+ condition and the record is in NEAR MINT condition. The Black Renaissance insert is included.
Completely obscure and fantastic ultra rare Japanese only release from this Afro-centric spiritual jazz group, featuring the great Marion Brown on alto sax! Recorded November 16, 1976, in Amherst, Massachusetts (where Brown served on faculty at Amherst College for several years), the record also features Alden Griggs, Brandon Ross, Kevin Ross, Steve McCraven, Terry Jenoure, Chris Johnson, and Jose Aponte.
