Zoo - Presents Chocolate Moose - Sunburst 7500 (1968)

Original stereo release from Sunburst Records.

Visually graded.

Record: VG+. Some very light scuff marks. Has been stored in plastic lined sleeve. Rarely played, this has been unplayed for over 30 years.

Cover VG+. Upper right and left corner slightly bent.

In 1968 producer Ed Cobb (Standells, Chocolate Watch Band, et al) signed this band to his Sunburst label.

This album, produced by Cobb (who also contributed several songs), 1968's The Zoo Presents Chocolate Moose served as an interesting debut. With all five members contributing material, the set was rather varied. Straddling genres, Chocolate Moose offered up a distinctive garage influence; Get Some Beads and From a Camel's Hump found the band taking a stab at lightweight psych, while Soul Drippin showcased a penchant for blue-eyed soul. While you couldn't really consider them artistic innovators, they still stand shoulder to shoulder with most similar bands from the period, making the collection worthy of a place in your collection.

In the mid-'80s Leese reappeared as a member of Heart.
