Description
I am downsizing my classic rock collection and will be selling a number of my ZZ Top LP's over the next week or so. Up for auction is my original pressing of the London Records ZZ Top Fandango!, produced in 1975. This record was mastered by Robert Ludwig of Sterling Sound. To me this is another ZZ Top breakout album, includes the songs "Tush" and "Heard it on the X". My main goal was to collect Near Mint versions of original vinyl for my rock collection, I wanted the same for the outer and inner sleeves as well, but the main priority was to to get the best quality vinyl as possible for the best audio quality, and also to get the best versions. As far as condition goes, the outer sleeve is in Excellent condition, it still has the original outer wrap on it with the promotional stickers intact, please see the pictures. All four corners have the usual bumping with some small loss of the color, also some rubbing to the edge of the opening of the front cover. The front of the cover would have been near mint, unfortunately the original owner tried to write his first name "Larry" in blue ballpoint pen to the outside of the outer wrap, you can faintly see his first name written on the outside of the wrap, fortunately the ink doesn't go through to the actual cover, but you can see a faint impression of the word Larry on the cover. Also the wrote his initials LTR to the back of the rear cover near the opening. I am being very tough on my grading, other wise no tears, rubs, scratches, the front and rear of the cover is very nice, please see the pictures. The original cardboard inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition, no flaws, I doubt you can find a better looking example out there. The vinyl itself is in beautiful near mint condition, no marks or flaws of any kind, and the labels are also near mint, I can't really find any flaws. It is not easy to find this record with this quality to the vinyl. The record plays with near mint quality as well, no sonic issues of any kind. There were four versions of the original first U.S. pressing, the Waddell, Terra Haute, Shelley, and PRC plant pressings. The dead wax shows the correct inscriptions SAHS-166D W 2 Sterling RL and SAHS SASH-166 W 1 Sterling RL as called out by Discogs for the true first Waddell plant pressing. I will only sell to the continental United States, no international shipping. I will send via US Postal Service Media Mail. No reserve, just a very reasonable starting bid.
