Description

Zodiac: The Soviet Space Disco Legacy

A Cosmic Journey through 1980s Synth Rock

The Sound of the Star City

In the early 1980s, while the world looked toward the stars, a Latvian band named Zodiac (Зодиак) captured that ambition in sound. Often cited as the Soviet response to the French electronic pioneers Space, their music was a definitive departure from the standard pop of the era. This set features the seminal debut Disco Alliance and the follow-up Music in the Universe (Музыка во Вселенной), a record directly inspired by encounters with cosmonauts and the vastness of orbit. This is the matte cover edition, representing a pivotal moment in Eastern Bloc progressive and electronic music.
