Description
A difficult title to find at 1st pressing. Interestingly it's also the very 1st 1G stamper too! So, it's a copy from the 1st ever stamper released to the public. Stampers 1G/1G. Note the labels mention 'Sold In The UK' - which is a must for 1st issue. Matrix 1/1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with exposed flipbacks. We also have a mid-sixties EMI inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+/Vg) In very decent condition despite having seen a moderate level use. Expect a good few lightish marks per side, and one superficial trail early on side 2. FULLY tested - there's actually not too much to worry about. Please note - these marks might put someone off who is fussy in that area [please consider your threshold]. But for someone keen to snag this 1G 1st copy and who can compromise on the looks - the audio is actually pretty good. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level with deviation in the lowkey numbers. The only tracks where I detected a bit of background was in 'This Love' & 'Lovin Man' & 'Trying'. They are lowkey numbers so expect a bit of light background here and there. I would imagine it's difficult to find these three playing really clean due to their inherent lowkey number. Nothing upfront - they just won't play clean like other areas. Expect a few isolated ticks in these tracks too [nothing unpalatable - but audible occasionally]. A couple of clicks early in 'Good Times'. The up-tempo numbers are killer. Super energy. Just be sure you can handle those marks - and the deviations mentioned. Otherwise it's a rea sweet original copy.
Cover (Ex-) I don't think many examples will be looking this dapper. Nice shiny front with just a touch of ageing and a few thumbnails at the opening. The impressive thing is the rear seems to have avoided the ageing process. Nothing worse than a couple of minor blemishes - impressive. Flipbacks are all intact and secure. Minimal edge wear and firm openings. Spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
