Description

Here is a nice authentic copy of SUN 217 Elvis Presley "Baby Let's Play House" with flipside "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone" released in 1955. This is the first Elvis SUN 45 that I have had so I have done my homework before listing to make sure that it is not one of the 1970's counterfeit copies. I absolutely guarantee this copy to be authentic. I have taken several photos and will include explanations below. Both sides of the record are VG playing condition. There are only light scratches, good sheen and some light surface hiss as would be expected of a record of this age. The fidelity is still great, it is a very nice listen. There are no cracks or warps and as you can see in the photos the labels are in very nice condition with no writing on them. The edge of the record is smooth with no chips. This is a nice example of this record and conservatively graded as VG. The Matrix numbers on this record are: U-142-45 (1/2 inch space) 72 and U-143x-45-2 (1/2 inch space) 72. The method of distinguishing 1950’s Suns from the 1970’s Suns is to look at the last two digits of the serial number in the trail-off - the 72 on the first four Suns. On the originals (50's), the last two digits are approximately ½ inch from the other digits. On the 1970's Suns, the distance is doubled, to just over an inch. This detail identifies the record as an original 1950's and not the later 70's reproduction. Most original SUN pressings can also be idetified by what is known as pushmarks in the vinyl under the label. There are three and I have photographed one so you can see what I mean. Again, I absolutely guarantee this to be authentic. If you think I am wrong and can explain why, please email me and I will take the auction off of ebay. Goldmine NM book value on this record is $3000. I usually start my auctions low with no reserve but for this one I think a reasonable $500 starting bid is in order. Overseas bidders are welcome. Overseas airmail is $9, no insurance offered at this rate. I do not ship overseas surface mail and I do not accept paypal. Most of my overseas customers use bidpay. I will combine winnings to save on shipping. US bidders pay $3.85 priority mail + insurance costs. If you are the winning bidder a contact email or invoice will be sent to you within 24 hours. If you do not receive the email within 24 hours then something is wrong on your receiving end and you should try to contact me. These days I think high spam filter settings are blocking too much email. I also notify you when your package has been shipped. I am diligent about my transactions. I request prompt communication and payment. Thank you for looking. I appreciate your business and I will reply to any questions. Please view my other auctions for more great recordings.
