Description
1920s shipping box from the Gospel Trumpet Co. to Cortland, NY, via American Railway Express Co.
This is approximately 11.5 x 11.5 x 2 inches, pine, and nailed together. One side is open (the original strip of wood removed to open the box is long lost). Labeled both sides, labels worn. Interior of the box is rubberstamped Gospel Trumpet Co.
This company (at the time centered in Anderson, Indiana) produced printed religious music since the 19th Century, and in the mid-1920s produced at least 15 issues of religious 78 rpm records, pressed by the Gennett Co. at Richmond, IN.
Probably a unique item for your phonograph room or record collection, or Gennett memorabilia collection.
