this is extremely rare opportunity to purchase a sought after book. situationist guy debord, together with artist friend asger jorn quickly constructed this stunningly colourful collage. it now seems incredibly contemporary. the cut up text additions allude to debord's political, artistic and cultural theories. situationist fan and factory records/hacienda founder tony wilson became aware of the book as a protesting student at cambridge. on releasing the first factory LP in 1979- the durutti column's '...return of....' (the name itself is a situationist allusion) wilson insisted the group stick sandpaper to the sleeves of the original run of the record so that it would destroy the sleeves on others in storage- exactly as debord had intended with the book. the book was printed in vibrant glory by the esteemed permild and rosengreen in copenhagen in 1959 in an extremely limted run. there have been limited edition reprints of the book (without the sandpaper) in the past but they can't compare to the printing skills displayed here in the original edition. this copy has a damaged spine as you can see from the photos and the book itself is detached from the wrapping to some degree as you can see. the interior itself is PERFECT and, as the spine is so thin, looking at the book from back or front it looks fine as you can see. if this book were 100 per cent spot on it's value would be in the region of 2,300 pounds. as it is i would not expect that but it is still EXTREMELY rare so bid sensibly and accordingly. having said that there is NO reserve. owing to paypal's restrictive practices which govern how much you can send or recieve unless you upgrade to accounts for which you must pay the greedy sods more, i will not be able to accept paypal in this instance. payment only by wire trasfer to uk bank. postage MUST be by an insured means at actual cost and to be established on closing. I have not lost a single item either nationallly or internationally in 25 years of buying or selling but i must mention that any method is obviously at buyers own risk. DO NOT MISS this once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase an amazing piece of history at an afforable price.
